Rachel Carter Murphy

Biography

​Rachel Carter Murphy has been soprano in residence at The Community Church of Vero Beach since 2017 and is requested as a soloist throughout the Treasure Coast, including Handel's Messiah at Palm City Presbyterian Church in 2021. She received a Master of Music degree in vocal performance in 2012 from Ohio University in Athens, OH and has performed several full and partial roles in opera and musical theater, most notably the title role in Francesca Da Rimini by Rachmaninoff in Philadelphia, PA. Since moving to Vero Beach in 2015, Rachel has been a featured soloist in large works presented by Community Church and performed with local community ensembles such as Voces Vero and The Vero Beach Choral Society. In January 2023 Rachel joined the roster of the Vero Beach Opera Chorus in their production of L’elisir d’Amore by Gaetano Donizetti and looks forward to the 2024 season. As Administrative Coordinator for Music and Worship, Rachel’s role in the Church Office includes worship bulletins and more. In addition to singing, Rachel also conducts the Community Ringers, our resident handbell ensemble.
