Rochelle Sallee


Pianist Rochelle Sallee currently resides in Sebastian, FL, but spent the majority of her life on the west coast. She started playing at age 2, her formal training began at age 4, and she embarked on her musical career at 16. In Los Angeles, CA, she worked in the film and record industry, recording with such luminaries as Elmer Bernstein and Marty Ballin. During a long career as a performer Rochelle has worked as a soloist in Washington, California, Utah, and Colorado and Florida. After moving east, her most recent USA seasons have included concerti works (Mendelssohn,Chopin, Gershwin) guest positions with Florida orchestras (piano, organ and celesta) and chamber music with internationally acclaimed violinist Ayako Yonetani, and Johnny Pherigo, natural horn, pianist/conductor Marcos Flores, and from the world of Opera Roman Cowan, Tania Ortega-Cowan among others.

Rochelle has recently been working with the Community Church of Vero Beach in a variety of capacities, enjoying the local flavor of excellent musicianship in a relaxed atmosphere. She also has been seen giving solo concerts and programs throughout Florida including the fabulous Carmen Suite, and various themed Salon concerts.

During her summer seasons in Europe Rochelle has performed both of the Chopin Concerti, (e minor and f minor) and performed as a soloist with members of the Hungarian National Conservatory in Budapest. Her solo appearances span Northern and Central Europe, including Belgium,Germany, Norway and Italy. More recently in the USA Rochelle performed with the Space Coast Symphony as the soloist for Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 in g minor (op. 25) and will be presenting the Rachmaninoff Second piano concerto both in the Spring '14 (April 4th) and later in the 15/16 season as well.

Rochelle has a Masters Degree in Piano Performance and has studied with Michael Lewin, at the Boston Conservatory. She has taken multiple lessons from Eduardo Delgado, Roberta Rust and Enrique Graf and Master classes with Daniel Pollack, Masahiro Kawakami and Ilana Vered. Rochelle strives to continue her growth as a classical music lover and musician, and passes this ideal on to her students.

As well as being a certified scuba diver, Rochelle is an avid aviatrix. She holds Commercial and Flight Instructor pilot certificates, and has over 3,000 logged skydives. Rochelle is also a huge UCF sports fan!
